In early 2013, I decided to tackle the art of acting in commercials. I knew exactly who I wanted to study with after having seen him speak on a panel–Herman & Lipson casting director, Barry Shapiro. Barry is a lovely, funny man, who at the same time does not pull punches. And that’s exactly what I want in a teacher–someone who will be completely honest when I fail, allowing me to pick myself up and succeed next try. I learned a great deal about the commercials side of the industry from Barry.
