Beginning January 15, I will be doing 4 performances of a new, devised piece of theatre called Gold Coast at Metropolitan Playhouse’s The Gilded Stage Festival. This piece is being produced by Stages on the Sound and is directed by Scott Barrow, who not only heads the work I have been doing with Stages on the Sound, but is a company member of Tectonic Theater Project. I mention the latter in that we are creating this piece in much the same manner that Tectonic (The Laramie Project, I Am My Own Wife, Gross Indecency, 33 Variations) creates their works. Thus, this has been a thrilling and fulfilling process for me.
Gold Coast is described as a visually stunning exploration of the culture and personalities of the Gilded Age with a loving focus on the stylized entertainments of that bygone era. Stories of gold and glamor told by the poorest of the poor.
Our performances:
Wednesday, January 15 at 7PM
Sunday, January 19 at 7PM
Friday, January 24 at 7PM
Sunday, January 26 at 4PM
Performances will take place at the Metropolitan Playhouse’s upstairs theatre at 220 East Fourth Street between Aves A & B.
